The St. Louis "Midway" is a style with a lot of city swag, but home in the country, on the estate hunting - oh no, not animals, hunting for a peacheful spot far away from the city.  I call hats with a brim that slouch in the front and back and are narrower on the sides an "Urban Outback".  Like St. Louis, MO it sits about half way between here and there.  Comfortable, water repellent, wool felt.  Crush it, pack it and take it on the road with you.  By the way, I sold my very first one of these to a lovely woman from Beverly Hills who defied me to find her a hat she looked good in.  It was the chestnut St. Louis, and my first pick!  She went on to buy many more hats for friends and family including some for her passion, fly fishing.  For women, this is the Katherine Hepburn style, the actress who made "trousers" popular for women.
